30 Years in Business
From humble beginnings in 1996, Glen Banks founded what was then Banks Engineering, working out of the back of his Land Cruiser and providing engineering services across the Kāpiti Coast.
Around a decade later, Glen discovered a passion for cranes. From there, the business began to grow and gradually transitioned from an engineering company into the crane and transport business it is today.
Over the years, Banks has grown from one man working out of a vehicle into a specialist lifting and transport company with a large fleet, experienced operators, crane trucks, mobile cranes, specialist lifting equipment and transport capability.
Today, Banks Crane and Transport works across Wellington, Kāpiti, Manawatū and the wider lower North Island, supporting construction, infrastructure, commercial and specialist lifting projects.
Thirty years on, the business still carries the same practical, hands-on approach it was built on, while continuing to invest in new equipment, systems and capability for the future.
