Porirua Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade

Sharing a few photos from the Porirua Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade.

As part of ongoing odour management improvements, new bio-trickling filters (BTFs) were installed on site. These systems use natural microorganisms to treat odorous air, helping improve conditions for both staff and the surrounding community.

Our team was involved in lifting and placing the new units, with careful planning and coordination required to complete the installs safely and efficiently while the plant remained fully operational.

This was a strong collaborative effort, working alongside Aquatec on the installation, for Wellington Water as the client, and with Veolia managing the site. A good example of multiple teams working together to deliver essential infrastructure upgrades behind the scenes.

A full lift study, along with a lift workshop, was carried out for this high-value job to ensure all lifts were planned and executed safely and efficiently.
